A Perfect Reminder, At a Perfect Time

Ever since Glenn Beck's book The Christmas Sweater came out (and then had to be re-printed because it was sold out every where) I have wanted to read it. I finally found a copy yesterday at Sam's Club and my mom bought it for me! I read it tonight and it is such a great book! It truly is the best gift, and it is something I will treasure! I've had a few books make an impact on my life but this one is definitely at the top. I'm not going to go into detail about the book, but if you do read it make sure you read every page, a lot of the time I never read the acknowledgement page or about the author but I did this time and I'm really glad I did, his acknowledgement page really made a deep impact, I think I really needed to be reminded of the amazing gift Christ gave to me and like Glenn says, I don't want to stand at his feet and look in His eyes and have Him say "is this the gift I gave you", that won't make much sense to you unless you've read the whole book. My number one fear in life is disappointing my parents, this book has changed that fear to second in line, my number one fear is seeing the look of disappointment on the Savior's face. I'm so glad I read this book and I will always cherish it. It is such a great reminder of what I should be doing in life and that the hard times is just a storm I'm passing through and I know that the Lord will always help when I ask.

To shave or not to shave, that is the question!!

So Tyson didn't shave for about two weeks, and he grew a pretty decent beard! On Saturday he decided to shave but wasn't to sure of what look he really wanted!


I don't like the mustache AT all, it reminded me of some creepy molestor guy!! I like the beard but I also like the clean shaven face to! I also liked the goatee but Tyson doesn't like it at all!! Anyway it was kinda fun seeing all of these!!

Oh the good times...

So today is a day that I thought might never come...okay actually I never thought about it until about 3 weeks ago!! Claire (my car) reached her 100,000 mile marker today!! Oh I have had such great memories with her!! From dragging main and singing Spice Girls at the top of our lungs (Haley/Stephanie), to dressing up as "sexy mexis", and all the ditching school/getting kicked out of class for asking our teacher if we can go get a drink (we just didn't tell her that we were going to the gas station)!

Anyways, the memories are so great and I just cant wait to share some more special experiences with Claire. She has been such a great car and I'm so happy to have her!! Hopefully she will make it through another hundred thousand miles or so!!

6 Months!

So for our 6 month anniversary we decided to eat our cake!! We didn't want to eat it on our year anniversary because we knew that it would be disgusting! And after 6 months the cake still wasn't all that great, actuall the cake itself was good but the frosting was kinda gross!!

Tyson's first few bites!! He ate his whole piece but I could only eat a bite of mine!! I'm glad we didn't wait a year!

Lake Powell!

Last week I went to Lake Powell with my family! (unfortunately Tyson wasn't able to come) We had a total blast!! My cousin owns a boating business called Invert Sports, he has 6 boats, wave runners, and all the equipment you need to have fun. He and his wife took their vacation with us and Jason spent some time teaching us how to wake board, wake surf, air chair, and we did some tubing!

Lance was brave enough to try and wake board! He is a lot braver then I ever was at 6 years old, and I loved the water! He was able to get up on the board but then he would get worried the water was going to get up his nose so he would let go of the rope and plug his nose!

Wake surfing was a lot of fun but I wasn't very good at it because it hurt my ankle that I broke 3 years ago. Jason is amazing at most everything, I guess he should be because that's what he does all summer long! With the wake surfing you can actually let go of the rope and stay right behind the boat and its actually like your

surfing!

I think that the air chair was the coolest thing to watch, I would never do it because I think I would end up getting hurt, but Jason was getting pretty good at it by the end of the week, he could actually get the fin out of the water and jump the wake, I'm pretty sure by next year he will know how to do back flips!

We also did some knee boarding which was really hard but I think I liked that the most! We had a lot of fun and I can't wait to go again next year, I just hope that Tyson will be able to go! By the end of the trip I was actually kinda moody because I hadn't been able to see him for so long!

The first day we were there it rained on us, we were stuck on the boat in a middle of a rainstorm, it was so scary because lighting was striking so close, Jason and Stephanie (his wife) got struck by the static electricity that ran through the heater of the boat! My mom and friend Haley were stuck on the wave runners, the two people who should have been in the boat because my mom hates water and Haley hates thunderstorms!!

I've just finished reading The Other Boleyn Girl, it's a good book and based on true events, told from the point of view of Mary Boleyn. Mary was forced to do a lot of things that she did not want to do, because back then you couldn't disobey your family, she was married at 13, taken from her husband at 14 and made King Henry's mistress, after a few years of that she was replaced by her rival sister Anne and was able to go back to her husband. Mary had conceived twice and had a daughter and a son, both belonging to the King, she was just starting to fall in love with her husband when he got the plague and died, she was forced to go back to the court and help her sister rise to the power of the queen, she was forced to betray Queen Katharine whom she loved and then had to step aside as her sister forcefully adopted her son and then became queen. It is a good book but it has a lot of sexual content in it, I didn't realize that it was an actual true story till the end of the book, it's basically about 'The Great Rise and Fall of Anne Boleyn' told from Mary's point of view! It made me realize how lucky I am to have a family who respects me, who wouldn't force me to do anything, and most of all to have a husband that i could marry because i love him, I'm grateful that he loves me and respects all of my decisions and he never disrespects me in any way! I'm so happy that woman actually have choices in this time of life and that we noticed as equal to the men!

I Got an Eagle...in Golf!!

So Tyson and I bought a Wii like a week ago, and it has been the most entertainment we have had in a long time!! Plus it gives you quite a work out! We were playing golf and I got an Eagle!! Tyson wasn't to happy about that, but I have to admit I haven't been doing very well since I got that eagle, maybe it's because Tyson doesn't like it when I win him at something, so he has gotten better!! We have spent more money on it then we probably should but it's tons of fun and it gives us something to do together for hours at a time!!

Yes, I'm a Nerd!!

Today is the day that we have been waiting for (we as in Brandie and I), waiting for like a year I might add! We are going to the Breaking Dawn party at Borders tonight around 8, where we will surely take part in the great debate: Edward VS Jacob! I am an Edward fan, and my personal opinion on the matter is this: If Bella chooses Edward BUT stays human
the book is ruined, if Bella chooses Jacob the book is definitely ruined, so basically the only thing that can happen is...Bella choosing Edward AND becoming a Vampire. I compare it to Harry Potter, if JK Rowling would have killed off Harry, Ron or Hermione she would lose all her fans, so if Stephanie Meyer chooses not to make Bella a Vampire or to be with Edward she will lose a lot of fans, and if this does happen I don't think I will continue to read The Host series!! I am very passionate about this if you haven't already figured out!!

I have also decided I'm not really that big of a fan of the Twilight series anymore, I started reading a series all The House of Night series (the first book is called Marked), which is also about Vampyre's (that's how they spell it in the book!) granted its not by an LDS author so there is some swearing in it that i don't appreciate and some other things but all in all I've decided it is definitely better the the Twilight series which is hard to believe I know but I've made my decision and I'm stickin to it!!

What are we gonna do?

So we decided to name her Zoey! And as of now we aren't to sure whether we are keeping her or not. Tyson thinks we could give her a better home if we give her away, and I agree but I don't want to give her to someone else because I love her. So by the end of today we are going to decide whether to keep her or not! This morning She woke up at 3:30 so I took her out to go potty and she went, as soon as she was done she ran back up the stairs and into the apartment, she started playing with her toys so I left her alone, then she came back into our room and climbed on top of Tyson's shoes (she has claimed them as her own) and went to sleep. When Tyson got up this morning he found that she had pooped right by our bedroom door, he was so mad, so as discipline she was locked in her cage on the balcony for like 15 minutes. Now today she is going to sit at my parents outside all by herself (well my parents dog Sadie will take care of her) so that she can learn to be away from us humans!! I really don't want to get rid of her, I think with a little patience and hard work she will be the best dog in the world!!

Our New Addition!

Yesterday I fell in love! As my mom and I were driving down the road we noticed there were puppies for sale at the Library, we decided to stop and play with them for awhile, that was probably not such a good idea because I fell in love with one and wanted to take her home, so I sent Ty a text and I was able to convince him to get one!! She is a purebred Lab and she was only $100 dollars, her dad is a show dog and her mom is an amazing hunter and fisher!! They were going to sale the puppies for $1000 dollars but they just weren't selling and they wanted to get rid of them! She is such a funny dog and she is very spoiled, she can't be alone at all or she starts whining and yelping! Tyson wasn't to sure of her at first but I think that she has grown on him!!

P.S. We haven't found a name for her but we really like Paige!

Primary here we come!!

On Sunday we got pulled in and asked if we wanted to be primary teachers, of course we said yes!! So I THINK we are teaching the 6 year olds which will be really fun, I'm kinda nervous I'm not gonna lie, I've never really had a calling before but I'm pretty sure this one will be a blast, plus I'll be with my hubby!! Speaking of which, he is totally excited about this calling, actually now that I think of it so am I cause it means i wont have to sit in Relief Society by myself YESSS!!! Ha no but I really am excited to teach the kids in the ward, I think I will really enjoy it!

Late Night Drive!

About a week ago Tyson and I were sitting around the apartment at about midnight, we weren't tired so Tyson asked me if i wanted to go on a late night drive! So our late night drive consisted of us taking out my remote control Hummer that I had gotten for Christmas! As we descended our stairs all of our neighbors were outside, they started laughing when they saw what we were doing!! The sprinklers had been on so the sand in the volleyball court was wet and and there were a few puddles! It's kinda funny what keeps Tyson entertained!! As for me I was entertained just watching him drive the H2 (okay so I cant really drive the thing) through the puddles and holes in the ground! Then we preceded to the parking lot where we took the Hummer off of a few jumps (jumps being the speed bumps)!! It was actually pretty fun, but after we ran the battery dead we found out we were even more awake then before!! I think our neighbors think we are crazy!!!
